Hey! We’re 1/10 of the method there! Don’t worry, there are still many, many gowns to come. such as this one, which is more than a bit similar to the Day 1 dress:
This is made of simplicity 1538, which I truly liked in the pattern illustration, in spite of the fembots-on-the-attack arms:
I’m not as happy with it in genuine Life, though, as well as I believe it’s my own damn fault for utilizing this super-heavy Marc Jacobs cotton/linen canvas. wrong material choice, in spite of the wonderful stripes. Here’s the back:
(As evidence that this gown would look much much better in a lighter fabric, inspect out this super adorable gingham version right here on WeSewRetro.)
The back stripes are off just sufficient to bug me:
The side zip didn’t fare so well in the heavier material either:
And for some reason this pattern is about a inch as well long in the bodice, a issue I never have with simplicity B34 patterns. I may just make it once again (but not in this fabric). as well as speaking of the fabric, utilizing up this fantastic material on a “meh” gown bummed me out, however then I discovered that it’s still on sale at Mood. (It’s a bit expensive, however perhaps I can have a second chance!)
And … The Hundred gowns was officially published yesterday! GirlsLife.com had a nice piece that makes me hopeful for the youth of Today.
